The longest serving fast-craft on the Irish Sea, JONATHAN SWIFT, left Dublin for the last time earlier today renamed CECILIA PAYNE. She is replaced by the slightly larger Austal AutoExpress DUBLIN SWIFT (ex WESTPAC EXPRESS) which was recently converted from military use over a 3-month period at Harland & Wolff.

The vessel now ordered is the fifth in the Stena E-Flexer RoPax class and Stena RoRo has a further three options on vessels for delivery from 2021 and onwards. In addition to this vessel, one of the class will go to Brittany Ferries and a further 3 to Stena Line for Irish Sea routes.

DFDS have today announced that they are to take delivery of one of Stena's E-Flexer class RoPax ferries for their Dover - Calais route. Delivery to DFDS is scheduled for 2021. DFDS also have a pair of RoPax ferries on order from Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China for Baltic services

DUBLIN SWIFT (the former WESTPAC EXPRESS) left Belfast yesterday afternoon (13/04/18) for Dublin. Â This follows the completion of a 3-month long refit and conversion to civilian use at Harland & Wolff. Â
