Irish Ferries' current flagship, the 2001-built ULYSSES, is to enter Belfast Dry Dock THIS EVENING for what is understood to be the replacement of one of her propeller shafts. As reported earlier this week, the 50,938gt vessel arrived in Belfast Lough on Tuesday night to anchor off Bangor.

Irish Ferries' 50,938gt flagship ULYSSES is currently en-route to Belfast for dry docking following technical problems over the past few days which have severely restricted her sailing speed.

With summer just round the corner, P&O Ferries has announced a range of great value offers that will bring a smile to holidaymakers' faces across Northern Ireland.
One of the two new E-Flexer RoPax ferries bound for the Belfast – Liverpool route in 2020 has recently marked an important production milestone by celebrating its official keel-laying at the AVIC shipyard in Weihai, China. The new vessels will have capacity for 1 000 passengers, 120 cars as well as 3 100 freight lane meters.

The keel of Stena’s second E-Flexer (Avic Weihai #WO264) was laid last week. This is the first of the two vessels earmarked for the Belfast to Liverpool route. Meanwhile there are to be changes to the fleet on Stena's Liverpool and Heysham freight services.

A €100 million investment by Seatruck Ferries, the Irish Sea freight specialist, will increase capacity on Warrenpoint to Heysham route by 30%. Seatruck will deploy two larger freight ferries, currently on charter to Stena Line, on the route later this summer.
P&O Ferries recently welcomed three Travel and Tourism Students from Larne High School to learn about Customers Service as part of their studies.

Irish Ferries announced earlier today that they have cancelled all sailings to France this year operated by their new ferry W.B. YEATS. Meanwhile, despite Irish Ferries stating that they expect the new vessel to be in service in September, it appears they are no longer taking any bookings for her specifically.
