Danish ferry and logistics company DFDS has confirmed online that they have sold ANGLIA SEAWAYS (ex MAERSK ANGLIA) to Greek shipping group Attica for service in the Mediterranean.  The 2000-built Ro-Ro is a part-sister to the Belfast to Heysham sisters STENA HIBERNIA and STENA SCOTIA having also been built for Norfolk Line based on the same plans, but in China rather than Japan as with the Stena pair.  The sale price was DKK 90 million (approx €12m).

ANGLIA SEAWAYS served Northern Ireland for both Norfolk Line and Seatruck with the latter using her between Heysham and both Belfast and Warrenpoint. As well as operating from Heysham to Northern Ireland for both Norfolk Line and Seatruck, ANGLIA SEAWAYS also opened Seatruck’s Dublin to Liverpool route after DFDS closed their own route between the two ports using her in 2011.
