LD Lines’ Visentini Ropax NORMAN ATLANTIC left Rosslare this evening for the final time, bound for St Nazaire in France.  The sailing marks the end of a service which was started less than a year ago, linking the Wexford port to Gijon in Spain via St Nazaire.   However, following the failure to secure further EU MoS funding for the France to Spain leg the company have taken the decision to withdraw not only the Rosslare service, but also their services from Poole in England to St Nazaire and Spain.  While no final decision has yet been made public regarding the St Nazaire – Gijon route itself, it is widely expected that this will be withdrawn as well following increased competition.

NORMAN ATLANTIC is a part-sister to STENA LAGAN and STENA MERSEY
