As previously reported, EUROPEAN CAUSEWAY entered dry dock at Cammell Laird on July 1st.  At the time she was expected back in service on July 8th in place of EUROPEAN SEAWAY, as indicated by the P&O Ferries booking engine.  However, according to the booking engine this evening it appears that her period in dry dock has been extended and that EUROPEAN CAUSEWAY will not replace EUROPEAN SEAWAY on the Larne to Cairnryan route until the 04:00 sailing ex Larne on the 10th of July.  As always, this may be subject to change again.

EUROPEAN SEAWAY of course has less passenger capacity and facilities than either of the regular vessels on the Cairnryan to Larne route, EUROPEAN CAUSEWAY and EUROPEAN HIGHLANDER. It had originally been intended that both regular vessels would be in service for July, but delays encountered during EUROPEAN HIGHLANDER‘s dry dock meant that she was away for six weeks rather than the three weeks planned for. EUROPEAN SEAWAY is currently at Larne on loan from P&O Ferries Dover to Calais operation where she provides additional capacity for freight when required.
