Irish Continental Group have today confirmed, in their 2017 annual results presentation, that WESTPAC EXPRESS is to be renamed DUBLIN SWIFT.  As previously reported on NI Ferry Site she will replace JONATHAN SWIFT on the Dublin to Holyhead route once she has been refurbished and converted from military to civilian use at Harland & Wolff.  JONATHAN SWIFT will then join Spanish operator Balearia.  NIFS understand that the refurbishment of WESTPAC EXPRESS / DUBLIN SWIFT is well underway with much of the old interior having been removed.  She is currently in Harland & Wolff’s Belfast Dry Dock (BDD) having arrived there at around 14:30 yesterday afternoon.  Prior to this she was alongside the Ship Repair Quay undergoing internal refurbishment and maintenance since her arrival in Belfast on the 14th of January.
