Stena Line’s new Belfast – Liverpool (Birkenhead) ferry STENA EDDA will leave Algeciras for Belfast soon.  The brand-new ship, the largest ferry to ever sail between Northern Ireland and England, is expected to arrive in Belfast next Wednesday evening, February 26. As ever, this date may be subject to change. Update: STENA EDDA left Algeciras at approx. 19:30. Update 22.02.20: STENA EDDA‘s ETA in Belfast has now changed to Wednesday morning.

Her arrival will be the end of a 10,500+ mile delivery journey from Weihai in China.  STENA EDDA is a direct-sister to STENA ESTRID and is currently expected to enter service in the first half of March.  A third new E-Flexer class vessel for the Irish Sea, STENA EMBLA, will leave China later in the year before joining STENA EDDA on the Belfast to Birkenhead route in January 2021. For an impression of how STENA EDDA will look onboard, see the special feature on STENA ESTRID here.
