Stena Line’s newest ferry, STENA EDDA, arrived at Belfast Harbour for the first time at around 7am this morning. Having remained at anchor overnight, the 214.5m long ferry moved along Belfast Lough to berth bow in at Victoria Terminal 2. She remained there for the rest of the day, initially with STENA LAGAN alongside her at Victoria Terminal 1.

It is expected that she will move across the river to Belfast Cruise Terminal (D1) tomorrow before undertaking further trials at Stena Line’s Scotland Terminal in Belfast, VT4. From there it is expected that she will then cross the North Channel to Cairnryan for berthing trials at Stena’s Loch Ryan Port. According to sources in Birkenhead, STENA EDDA is expected to arrive there later on Friday. It has been suggested she will remain there until she begins service in March.

STENA ADVENTURER left Falmouth, where she has been in dry dock, earlier today. According to the Stena Line Freight ‘Live’ timetable, she will replace STENA ESTRID on the 14:00 ex Holyhead tomorrow (Thursday 27th). It is understood that while off service the opportunity has been taken to refurbish some passenger areas to better reflect those on STENA ESTRID, which was built to the latest Stena Line interior design concept.

Although not yet changed on the Holyhead timetable, STENA SUPERFAST X is expected to take over from STENA SUPERFAST VIII on Sunday. The latter ship will be off service from the 11:30 ex Belfast on Sunday, returning with the 15:30 ex Belfast on Tuesday. This should be STENA SUPERFAST X‘s final visit to Belfast before going for rebuilding work in Greece ahead of a long-term charter to Corsica Linea.
