STENA EUROPE is seen in Rosslare showing off her new livery following her 2017 refit at Harland and Wolff, Belfast. Stena Line.

Update 23.03.19 @ 18:00: STENA EUROPE arrived in Tuzla today at around Midday local time. As expected her stay in Gibraltar was brief, only stopping to take on bunkers from a tanker on March 17th.

Update 13.03.19 @ 15:00: STENA EUROPE left Fishguard for Gibraltar at around 10:45 having stayed in the Welsh port overnight through the worst of Storm Gareth. Her voyage to Turkey is likely to take up to 10 days.

Update 19:00: Due to Storm Gareth STENA EUROPE will remain at Fishguard before proceeding to Turkey when weather conditions are more favourable.

Uk-based freight ferry agent Freightlink have posted the following statement from Stena Line to their website:

“Please be advised, the Stena Europe operating on the Rosslare – Fishguard route is scheduled to attend dry dock for her annual refit departing on Sunday 10th March 2019. The refit is expected to last until Wednesday 26th June 2019. During this time she will receive extensive work, including further deck head modifications to enable us to carry full height trailers across her whole main deck; at present this is only possible on the Port side.

We are pleased to advise that the Stena Nordica will operate as the replacement vessel, offering greater capacity and the capability to carry hazardous cargoes which require “Open Deck” stowage (normally unavailable). The first departure will be 18:10hrs from Rosslare on Sunday 10th March.”

STENA NORDICA is already in service as above whilst STENA EUROPE is currently en route to Fishguard to load supplies for her refit prior to departing for her dry docking in Turkey. For more information on STENA EUROPE see her dedicated NI Ferry Site page here.
