Stena Line today posted to LinkedIn the name of their third E-Flexer for the first time in public. Readers who have been following our detailed E-Flexer updates page will be familiar with this name as it was posted to that page as far back as April 15th. The keel laying for STENA EMBLA took place on April 18th and as expected shes been allocated the hull number W0266.
Also today, Stena Line posted the following video to Facebook which gives a preview of how the vessels will look inside, as well as some further information about the series. The first of the Stena E-Flexer series STENA ESTRID will enter service between Holyhead and Dublin early next year.
The name STENA EMBLA was chosen via a Stena Line Irish Sea staff competition and is a Norse (mythology) name beginning with ‘E’ in accordance with the Stena Line E-Flexer naming policy. Embla means “the first female, created by gods” according to Stena Line.
