Stena Line‘s first two E-Flexer vessels, STENA ESTRID and STENA EDDA have been noted together at Birkenhead’s Twelve Quays Ferry Terminal today.
It is believed STENA EDDA has suffered technical failure and was unable to undertake her overnight crossing to Belfast on Friday. STENA ESTRID, normally operating between Holyhead and Dublin, is covering on the Birkenhead to Belfast route in place of STENA EMBLA.
‘Embla has been operating on the North Channel between Belfast and Cairnryan since the beginning of the week to allow STENA SUPERFAST VII and STENA SUPERFAST VIII to dry dock at Harland and Wolff.
At the time of writing, it is unclear what the exact nature of the problem with STENA EDDA is or how long she will remain off service. STENA FORETELLER is timetabled to take the overnight sailing from Belfast tonight (Saturday) with a return tomorrow from Birkenhead.
Intending passengers are advised to contact Stena Line directly for more information or check their Ferrycheck page.
With thanks to David Faerder for contributing photographs of STENA ESTRID and STENA EDDA today.
