Brittany Ferries has announced that it will start its Rosslare – Cherbourg route two months early in response to freight demand.
Brittany Ferries is to open the first ever direct ferry link between Ireland and Spain later this year.
There will be two direct sailings weekly from Cork to Santander and the new route will go on sale at the end of January.
The sailing from Rosslare to St Nazaire this evening marks the end of a service which was started less than a year ago, linking the Wexford port to Gijon in Spain via St Nazaire.
