Irish Ferries flagship ULYSSES left the dry dock in Belfast she has occupied for almost a month yesterday, around three and a half hours later than planned.

Irish Ferries' Dublin to Holyhead flagship ULYSSES departure from dry-dock at H&W Belfast has been delayed. Meanwhile EPSILON's weekend sailing between Dublin and Cherbourg has been cancelled as a direct result.

Irish Ferries announced earlier today that they have cancelled all sailings to France this year operated by their new ferry W.B. YEATS. Meanwhile, despite Irish Ferries stating that they expect the new vessel to be in service in September, it appears they are no longer taking any bookings for her specifically.

The longest serving fast-craft on the Irish Sea, JONATHAN SWIFT, left Dublin for the last time earlier today renamed CECILIA PAYNE. She is replaced by the slightly larger Austal AutoExpress DUBLIN SWIFT (ex WESTPAC EXPRESS) which was recently converted from military use over a 3-month period at Harland & Wolff.

DUBLIN SWIFT (the former WESTPAC EXPRESS) left Belfast yesterday afternoon (13/04/18) for Dublin. Â This follows the completion of a 3-month long refit and conversion to civilian use at Harland & Wolff. Â

The conversion and refurbishment of Irish Ferries' DUBLIN SWIFT continues at Harland & Wolff, with the Austal AutoExpress Catamaran currently scheduled to leave Belfast Dry Dock this coming Tuesday. However it is expected this will only be to return to the Ship Repair Quay were for work to continue.

This weeks "Blast from the Past" is a menu from the Belfast - Liverpool ferry ST COLUM I, probably dating from the period shortly before the Belfast Car Ferries/Belfast Ferries service ended in October 1990 due to the use of the Belfast Ferries brand instead of "Belfast Car Ferries'.

Irish Continental Group have today confirmed, in their 2017 annual results presentation, that WESTPAC EXPRESS is to be renamed DUBLIN SWIFT. She is currently in Harland & Wolff's Belfast Dry Dock (BDD) having arrived there at around 14:30 yesterday afternoon.
