Irish Ferries’ ISLE OF INISHMORE is a Ro-Pax ferry owned by Irish Continental Group. Â She was completed in 1997 in The Netherlands by van der Giessen- de Noord. ISLE OF INISHMORE was originally built for the Dublin to Holyhead route, but moved to the Rosslare to Pembroke Dock service after she was displaced on her original route by the arrival of ULYSSES in 2001.
ISLE OF INISHMORE is a part-sister to Stena Line’s STENA JUTLANDICA and shares a similar side profile. However, the two vessels differ significantly in accommodation layout and machinery. STENA JUTLANDICA was also built as a train ferry as well as a Ro-Pax.
From June 2021, ISLE OF INISHMORE will serve a new Irish Ferries route between Dover and Calais. Â This will be the first Irish Ferries route not to call at an Irish port. Â She was replaced on the Rosslare – Pembroke route during April 2021 by BLUE STAR 1.
