SEA SPEED JET (ex SUPERFAST CAT / EMERAUDE FRANCE / SEACAT FRANCE / CROAZIA JET / ATLANTIC II / SEACAT CALAIS / SEACAT TASMANIA
Launched as SEACAT TASMANIA she paid a brief visit to Northern Irish waters as EMERAUDE FRANCE when chartered for around 6 months to cover for the Isle of Man Steam Packet company’s SEA EXPRESS 1 (later SNAEFELL) after she was badly damaged in a collision in the River Mersey.
EMERAUDE FRANCE is seen in Belfast while on a charter to the Isle of Man Steam Packet as cover for SEA EXPRESS 1 (later SNAEFELL) which had been badly damaged in a collision in Liverpool. She is seen here in July 2007, about half way through her charter from May to September of that year. Originally built as SEACAT TASMANIA, she was the first “SeaCat” and also the first car carrying catamaran built by InCat. Copyright © Ross McDonald.
