Irish Ferries announced earlier today that they have cancelled all sailings to France this year operated by their new ferry W.B. YEATS. Meanwhile, despite Irish Ferries stating that they expect the new vessel to be in service in September, it appears they are no longer taking any bookings for her specifically.

The longest serving fast-craft on the Irish Sea, JONATHAN SWIFT, left Dublin for the last time earlier today renamed CECILIA PAYNE. She is replaced by the slightly larger Austal AutoExpress DUBLIN SWIFT (ex WESTPAC EXPRESS) which was recently converted from military use over a 3-month period at Harland & Wolff.

Irish Continental Group plc has entered into an agreement, with the German company Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesselschaft & Co.KG , whereby FSG has agreed to build a cruise ferry for ICG at a contract price of €165.2 million. Upon completion, it will be the largest cruise ferry in the world in terms of vehicle capacity.
