Scenic Lough Foyle ferry have announced that they are running a two-ship shuttle service starting yesterday and running until 20:15 on Sunday.  Like last weekend, STRANGFORD 1 is being joined by last years regular vessel FRAZER MARINER.  The service starts as normal at 9am and the last sailing will depart at 8:15pm on all days, returning to a single-ship operation on Monday.

About the service

The Scenic Lough Foyle ferry operates every day, Monday – Sunday, from June to September, on a regular shuttle service starting from Greencastle, Co Donegal at 9am until 8.15pm.  Ticket prices and great ideas on all you can see and do can be found at http://loughfoyleferry.com/.

Scenic Lough Foyle Ferry is owned by the same parent company as the Scenic Carlingford Ferry and Passage East Ferry, Frazer Ferries.  NIFS understands Frazer Ferries purchased the former Strangford Lough Ferry STRANGFORD (STRANGFORD FERRY) earlier this year from Cara na nOilean, the parent company of the Lough Swilly Ferry and Arranmore (Red) Ferry.  Cara na nOilean had purchased the vessel from the Northern Ireland Department For Infrastructure after she was put up for sale following her replacement by STRANGFORD II, but never used her in service themselves. At present it is not yet clear whether STRANGFORD 1 will be the normal vessel on the Lough Foyle service going forward or whether she will be renamed and painted into the same livery as her fleet-mates FRAZER MARINER, FRAZER AISLING GABRIELLE, and FRAZER TINTERN.
