Looking back around 30 years, what was then P&O European Ferries still issued dedicated “land-bridge” brochures with North Sea Ferries. P&O Ferries were still only half-owners of NSF at the time. IONIC FERRY is the Cairnryan ship featured on the cover, while NORLAND is the NSF vessel featured despite the much newer NORSEA and NORSUN already being in service.

NORSEA and NORSUN are still in service, though on the Hull – Zeebrugge route rather than Hull – Rotterdam as they would have been in 1990. Now named PRIDE OF YORK and PRIDE OF BRUGES, they sail under the P&O Ferries brand as P&O bought-out their partners in NSF, Nedlloyd, in 1996. NORLAND and her sister NORSTAR were broken up in India during 2010.
