This morning our subscribers received a number of strange emails into their mailboxes, while out Facebook and Twitter followers will have received a number of notifications. This was an accident and the result of starting to put things in place for a new theme/layout for the site for 2020.  The issue has been addressed, but unfortunately not before nearly 60 emails were sent out to every subscriber by WordPress!  I’d like to apologise to everyone affected and assure them that this incident will not be repeated.

There will be some planned downtime later in the month in order to roll out the new site layout.  The new look for the site should improve the site for mobile users in particular – around 70% of all visits to the site are made on mobile phones.  I will post an update on this closer to the time, but rest assured I will turn off the subscriber email and notification feature when making changes in the future!

P.S. The site was not hacked as some thought it may have been.

Polite notice: While we welcome our articles being shared, we request that links to this website are provided rather than other approaches. Thank you (NI Ferry Site team).
