P&O Ferries former EUROPEAN ENDEAVOUR, now named FINBO CARGO, made her maiden commercial crossing yesterday on her new route between Vuosaari (near Helsinki, Finland) and Muuga (near Tallinn, Estonia). The former Merchant Ferries and Norfolkline vessel was sold by P&O Ferries during May, who replaced her on the Liverpool to Dublin route with the Ro-Ro vessel MISTRAL.
FINBO CARGO will make up to two round trips per day on the single ship service which will compete directly with Tallink’s SEA WIND. While FINBO CARGO is aimed mainly at freight, she will offer a lower cost alternative to the Helsinki – Tallinn “cruise ferries” for passengers with cars as well operated by Tallink, Eckero, and Viking Line.
In response to the new service, Tallink have started to accept passengers with cars on their SEA WIND sailings as well.
