The former Lough Foyle Ferry FOYLE VENTURE arrived at her new home, Greenore, on Carlingford Lough yesterday evening. The 1978 built vessel was repainted at the New Ross boatyard in County Wexford, following as spell covering for FBD TINTERN on the Passage East ferry service. The veteran vessel now wears a mainly dark blue and white colour scheme, with the name FRAZER AISLING GABRIELLE painted on her side instead of FOYLE VENTURE. However, it seems the vessel has yet to be officially renamed.  FOYLE VENTURE/FRAZER AISLING GABRIELLE is due to open the new ‘Scenic Carlingford Ferry’ crossing between Greencastle (County Down) and Greenore (County Louth) on or around June 2nd 2017.
