Brittany Ferries GALICIA arrived to fireworks earlier tonight, marking the end of her first commercial voyage. The brand-new ferry left the Spanish port of Santander yesterday, carrying paying passengers for the first time.
GALICIA is the first of three similar E-Flexer ferries being introduced by the French company up to 2023. All three ships have Spanish names, reflecting the fact that they are to be primarily allocated to Spanish services.

Having arrived from her builders in China last month, the ship was blessed in Roscoff by L’abbé Christian Bernard on November 28.

GALICIA has been allocated to the Santander – Portsmouth and Portsmouth – Cherbourg routes, though may appear on other routes as a relief vessel if required.
Her arrival on the Santander route has allowed CAP FINISTERE to go to dry-dock. For further information on GALICIA, visit our “introducing” feature here.
