Stena Line’s new Rosslare to Cherbourg ferry STENA VISION is currently en route to Ireland following a refit in Poland. The ship will enter service on the popular Rosslare to Cherbourg route on 30 June, sailing opposite the existing passenger vessel STENA HORIZON.

The addition of STENA VISION to the Cherbourg route will allow Stena Line to offer the most frequent passenger service between Ireland and the rest of the EU with 12 departures per week.

STENA VISION was previously on the company’s Karlskrona (Sweden) to Gdynia (Poland) route.  The ship was refitted at the Remontowa shipyard in Gdańsk where modifications were also made to the vehicle deck access arrangements to make the ferry more suitable for the crossing between Ireland and France.

Investment

Commenting on the completion of STENA VISION’s refit, Paul Grant, Trade Director Stena Line said:

“We are delighted to confirm that Stena Vision has now started on its journey to Rosslare.  The ship has undergone a major refit investment and we are in the process of finalising last minute preparations in advance of commencing services on Rosslare-Cherbourg on 30th June, just in time for the peak summer holiday period.”

STENA VISION has capacity for up to 1,300 passengers and around 2,200lm of freight. Her 485 cabins are more than on any other ferry currently sailing to Ireland.  There are a range of different cabin types to choose from including standard cabins, deluxe suites and 42 pet friendly cabins.  STENA VISION offers a wealth of passenger facilities for the overnight crossing.  Replacing the 12-driver SEATRUCK PANORAMA  the ‘Vision also significantly boosts Stena’s accompanied freight capacity on the route.

Paul Grant added:

“The introduction of Stena Vision is also welcome news for the freight sector, which has seen demand grow for direct services to France for hauliers since Brexit. Stena Vision will also increase driver accompanied capacity with more cabin space for freight drivers.”

Stena Line Press Release

STENA VISION is the first of two new ferries being introduced by Stena Line at Rosslare this summer.  The second of these, STENA NORDICA, is expected to be introduced in place of STENA EUROPE on the Rosslare to Fishguard service next month.
