Update 30.07.19: STENA MERSEY moved to Liverpool’s Gladstone Dock 2 this evening.
Stena Line has confirmed that there will be a reduced service on their ferry route between Belfast and Liverpool (Birkenhead) this week. One of the two passenger vessels, STENA MERSEY, has had to be withdrawn from service for the rest of the week due to a technical issue. As a result, the route will only have STENA LAGAN and the Ro-Ro freight vessel STENA FORECASTER in operation. This means that there will be no passenger daytime sailings from Belfast, and no overnight passenger sailings from Birkenhead this week. STENA FORECASTER has moved onto STENA MERSEY‘s roster but can only carry freight, with her “shoulder” sailings cancelled. Passengers booked on affected sailings should contact Stena Line directly to rearrange their travel. As always, passengers can check the latest sailing status for all of Stena Line’s routes using “ferry check” at https://www.stenaline.co.uk/latest-sailing-updates.
Freightlink has published the following statement from Stena Line:
“Please be advised – owing to a technical problem the Stena Mersey has been withdrawn from service. As a result there will be a restricted services this week on the Belfast / Birkenhead route.
