Following a brief return to service earlier in the month for the early May Bank Holiday, the ‘Scenic Lough Foyle Ferry’ is to return on the 11th of May for an extended summer season.  It had originally been announced that the ferry would run from the start of June until September this year, however the company have decided to bring the service back early and extend the season until 16th September following customer feedback.

Sailings during May will be at weekends and selected week days only.   The ferry will be sailing Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May. The following week the ferry will sail on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May. The service will then revert to a daily schedule from Friday 25th May, which will continue until 16th September.  The regular vessel FRAZER MARINER is still covering on the ‘Scenic Carlingford Ferry’ service as its regular vessel AISLING GABRIELLE is undergoing engine upgrade work at present.  As a result, NI Ferry Site expect that STRANGFORD 1 will again operate the Lough Foyle service until the return of FRAZER MARINER, in the same way she covered the service earlier this month for the Bank Holiday period
