P and O Ferries
P&O Ferries is a British ferry operator which offers passenger and freight ferry services from Great Britain to Continental Europe and the Island of Ireland.
The company is headquartered in Dover and also controls logistics company P&O Ferrymasters. P&O Ferries is owned by Dubai-based DP World but run from the UK. The company has previously been known under a number of names, including P&O European Ferries.
Much of the P&O’s ferry network can trace its origin to Townsend Thoresen and its predecessors. Despite its name, P&O Cruises has a different owner to P&O Ferries. The cruise company became part of Carnival Corporation in 2003 having split from the rest of the P&O operation in 2000.
