Update 04.10.19: STENA NORDICA left Rosslare for Rotterdam yesterday evening. At present her ETA at Rotterdam is Monday morning, 07.10.19. The main change to the passenger accommodation on STENA EUROPE appears to be the addition of a Hygge Recline Lounge. Other areas onboard appear to have been tidied up, but as previously advised on NI Ferry Site the work undertaken during the ships absence for service has been mostly technical. We hope to publish an “A Look Inside” feature in the next week or two.

Update 02.10.19: As expected, STENA EUROPE was replaced by STENA NORDICA yesterday. ‘Europe’ has taken over the Rosslare to Fishguard route again today with ‘Nordica’ resting at Rosslare.

Update 01.10.19 @ 08:40: After sailing 4 trips yesterday, STENA EUROPE has been replaced by STENA NORDICA again today with the latter currently on her way to Fishguard. Stena’s live freight timetable currently has STENA EUROPE resuming service again tomorrow.

Veteran Fishguard to Rosslare ferry STENA EUROPE made her first revenue earning crossing since March with this mornings 08:00 sailing from Rosslare to Fishguard. The popular vessel has been off service due to a life extending refit, with STENA NORDICA providing cover.

While there has been some limited refurbishment to the passenger areas onboard, the majority of the work on the vessel is understood to have been technical. The bulk of the work was carried out at the Gemak Shipyard in Tuzla (Turkey), with a brief spell spent in Liverpool on the vessel’s return to the UK. The return of STENA EUROPE to the route between the UK and Ireland will allow STENA NORDICA to stand down.
