The introduction to service of STENA ESTRID on Monday will allow STENA SUPERFAST X to return to Belfast according to the Stena Line timetable. From Tuesday January 14, STENA SUPERFAST X will release both Belfast to Cairnryan vessels in turn for maintenance. STENA ESTRID, Stena Line’s newest ferry, will make her first commercial crossing with her 08:55 departure from Holyhead to Dublin. The brand-new “E-Flexer” vessel has been given the all clear for service following drills and inspections by the authorities in Dublin on Wednesday.
STENA SUPERFAST VIII will be first to go, with ‘X’ taking over from the 07:30 ex Belfast on Tuesday. The former returns to service again with the 11:30 ex Belfast on Thursday January 16, releasing sister-ship STENA SUPERFAST VII. STENA SUPERFAST X remains in service until Sunday 19th, with the 11:30 ex Cairnryan her final sailing on the Cairnryan route. It is expected that following this she will go for maintenance herself at Harland & Wolff. Once this maintenance is complete, ‘X’ is expected to return to the Central Corridor. She will then be available to release STENA ADVENTURER from the Dublin – Holyhead route for refit.
As always, dates and times are subject to change. STENA SUPERFAST X is an as-built sister to STENA SUPERFAST VII and VIII, but differs significantly inside. To see what STENA SUPERFAST X looks like inside, see our special feature here.
The full amended timetable from 14.01.2020 until 19.01.2020 can be viewed here. Please note that freight will be subject to a height restriction on sailings operated by STENA SUPERFAST X.
